Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the gained 1.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Argen-X (EBR:), which rose 3.46% or 14.40 points to trade at 430.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR:) added 2.51% or 2.05 points to end at 83.75 and Elia (EBR:) was up 2.41% or 2.15 points to 91.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR:), which fell 1.45% or 0.47 points to trade at 32.04 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:) declined 1.36% or 1.13 points to end at 81.95 and Aperam SA (AS:) was down 0.31% or 0.08 points to 25.56.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 30 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.77% or 18.15 to $2,386.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.34% or 1.09 to hit $82.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.03% or 0.87 to trade at $85.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 104.73.
