Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the gained 0.89% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:), which rose 3.93% or 0.54 points to trade at 14.27 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) added 3.71% or 0.13 points to end at 3.69 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) was up 1.86% or 0.08 points to 4.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:), which fell 2.52% or 0.50 points to trade at 19.18 at the close. Semapa (ELI:) declined 0.14% or 0.02 points to end at 14.68 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:) was down 0.06% or 0.01 points to 8.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.32% or 0.27 to $85.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.45% or 0.37 to hit $82.47 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.86% or 44.30 to trade at $2,424.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 104.11.
