Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the gained 0.73% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the were Charter Hall Group (ASX:), which rose 4.53% or 0.55 points to trade at 12.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanosonics Ltd (ASX:) added 4.44% or 0.14 points to end at 3.29 and Mirvac Group (ASX:) was up 3.98% or 0.08 points to 2.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zip Co Ltd (ASX:), which fell 6.78% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.58 at the close. Nuix Ltd (ASX:) declined 3.43% or 0.12 points to end at 3.38 and Mesoblast Ltd (ASX:) was down 2.10% or 0.03 points to 1.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 591 to 586 and 436 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 3.85% to 12.10 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.44% or 10.65 to $2,410.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $80.93 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.09 to trade at $84.94 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 0.68, while AUD/JPY fell 0.03% to 107.08.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 103.99.
