Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The best performers of the session on the were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:), which rose 4.45% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (ELI:) added 2.91% or 0.44 points to end at 15.58 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) was up 2.27% or 0.08 points to 3.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:), which fell 0.62% or 0.12 points to trade at 19.14 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:) declined 0.50% or 0.10 points to end at 18.98 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 6.96.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 20 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.10% or 0.93 to $83.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.16% or 0.94 to hit $79.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.49% or 36.20 to trade at $2,465.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.08.
