Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the were Syensqo SA (EBR:), which rose 1.65% or 1.33 points to trade at 82.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:) added 1.03% or 4.40 points to end at 430.90 and Solvay SA (EBR:) was up 0.53% or 0.17 points to 32.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:), which fell 3.49% or 0.90 points to trade at 24.90 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:) declined 1.33% or 0.19 points to end at 14.09 and Galapagos NV (AS:) was down 0.90% or 0.22 points to 24.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 51 to 41 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.50% or 36.45 to $2,465.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.15% or 0.93 to hit $79.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.88 to trade at $83.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 104.08.
