Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the rose 0.31% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:), which rose 4.55% or 0.37 points to trade at 8.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:) added 3.02% or 0.68 points to end at 23.22 and Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF:) was up 2.90% or 0.09 points to 3.19 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:), which fell 6.25% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.95 at the close. Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:) declined 2.79% or 0.31 points to end at 10.80 and Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:) was down 2.64% or 0.11 points to 4.05.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 514 to 408 and 70 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.58% to 23.84.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.24% or 5.95 to $2,461.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.21% or 1.76 to hit $81.47 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.18% or 0.45 to trade at $244.05 .
USD/BRL was up 0.96% to 5.48, while EUR/BRL rose 1.34% to 6.00.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.49% at 103.45.
