Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Dexco SA (BVMF:), which rose 3.68% or 0.25 points to trade at 7.05 at the close. Meanwhile, Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo SABESP (BVMF:) added 3.04% or 2.49 points to end at 84.51 and Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:) was up 2.92% or 0.66 points to 23.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:), which fell 4.71% or 1.48 points to trade at 29.92 at the close. Energy of Minas Gerais Co Preferred (BVMF:) declined 3.57% or 0.39 points to end at 10.54 and CTEEP Cia de Transmissao de Energia (BVMF:) was down 3.35% or 0.85 points to 24.49.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 490 to 402 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.71% or 1.48 to 29.92.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.65% to 25.58.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.23% or 54.80 to $2,401.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.14% or 2.55 to hit $78.75 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.05% or 2.52 to trade at $238.38 .
USD/BRL was up 0.95% to 5.60, while EUR/BRL rose 0.14% to 6.10.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 104.08.
