Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the fell 2.08%.
The best performers of the session on the were ERG (BIT:), which rose 2.17% or 0.52 points to trade at 24.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale SpA (BIT:) added 2.03% or 0.15 points to end at 7.73 and Moncler SpA (BIT:) was up 1.87% or 1.02 points to 55.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (BIT:), which fell 13.75% or 5.09 points to trade at 31.94 at the close. Stellantis NV (BIT:) declined 8.69% or 1.59 points to end at 16.67 and Iveco Group NV (BIT:) was down 7.61% or 0.77 points to 9.29.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 379 to 135 and 41 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (BIT:) fell to 52-week lows; down 13.75% or 5.09 to 31.94.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.75% or 0.58 to $78.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.33% or 0.27 to hit $81.98 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.42% or 58.45 to trade at $2,357.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 104.01.
