EXCLUSIVE – Far-left Democratic congressional candidate Oliver Larkin of Florida says he supports abolishing the U.S. Senate, agrees with socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be arrested during his upcoming trip to the U.S., and refers to Israel’s ruling coalition as a “religious supremacist regime.”
Larkin, who is challenging Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz in next month’s Florida primary, is one of just four congressional candidates endorsed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
The 33-year-old Larkin, a veteran of progressive champion Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2016 Democratic presidential campaign, is also the only DSA-endorsed House candidate running in one of the roughly two dozen key swing districts that will determine if Republicans hold onto their razor-thin majority in the midterm elections.
Moskowitz, who is running for re-election in Florida’s newly redrawn 25th Congressional District, a Broward County-anchored seat in the southeastern corner of the red-leaning state, is heavily supported by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). He currently holds a polling and fundraising lead over Larkin.

The face-off between Larkin and Moskowitz comes in the wake of victories by far-left and socialist candidates over more moderate contenders in deep-blue districts last month’s primaries in New York City and Colorado.
The ideological battle between the left-wing and the center-left establishment to reshape the Democratic Party now moves to statewide primary showdowns in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota early next month.
Those contests are followed by Florida’s primary, where the spotlight on the burgeoning Democratic Party civil war will shine on the Moskowitz-Larkin showdown.
Larkin, in an exclusive interview this week with Fox News, spelled out where he stands on key issues.
Mamdani, in a video released on Tuesday, said that the New York Police Department would not be able to carry out an arrest warrant on Netanyahu that was issued by the International Criminal Court, the world’s top war-crimes court.
But Mamdani argued the Israeli leader was a “war criminal” and urged federal authorities to arrest him.

Asked about Netanyahu, Larkin said, “We need to enforce the law, and to the degree possible, I would support the enforcement by the New York City Police Department or any other law enforcement entity in the United States to enforce that ICC warrant.”
Larkin, who backs an end to all U.S. military aid to Israel, said he supports a “one-state solution with equal and democratic rights for all people…I do not support a religious supremacist regime, whether it be in Israel or Saudi Arabia, or any other country.”

Israel’s response to the Hamas attack has led to condemnation of the country from across the globe, including from longtime advocates for the Jewish state.
In a stunning move, nearly half of House Democrats voted this week to cut off aid to Israel, illustrating the seismic shift over the past couple of years in political support for America’s longtime ally in the Middle East.
The DSA released new policy proposals this week that include scrapping the Senate and expanding the House of Representatives, which would upend the American system of government in place since 1789.
Larkin said he agrees with top DSA officials who call the Senate an “undemocratic institution.”

“I do support the abolition of the Senate,” Larkin told Fox News. “I live in Broward County, Florida. We have more people in Broward County than 12 states in the country, but you do not see a dozen or two dozen senators representing Broward County in the U.S. Senate. In South Florida, we have more people in the Miami metropolitan area than over 30 states, but you don’t see a two-thirds majority of South Floridians in the United States Senate because this is an institution that is mathematically undemocratic.”
Larkin charged that the Senate “privileges land over people, and it originates from a compromise with slave-owning states when the Constitution was first passed. We don’t need to overturn the constitution or throw the constitution out. The founders envisioned a process through constitutional amendments where it could be amended over and over again.”
Larkin criticized Moskowitz, a two-term congressman and former state lawmaker and county commissioner who served as Florida Division of Emergency Management director under GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, for voting in favor of the Laken Riley Act and for supporting President Donald Trump’s DOGE initiative.
He slammed “milquetoast neoliberal corporate Democrats like Jared Moskowitz” that he claimed failed to push through policies that Democrats voted for when they elected former President Joe Biden to the White House and boosted the party to control of Congress in 2020.
Fox News reached out to Moskowitz’s re-election campaign for comment, but didn’t receive a response at the time this story posted.
Larkin, in his conversation with Fox News, also made it clear that if he wins next month’s primary and the general election in November, he won’t be supporting House Democratic Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York as speaker if the Democrats win back the majority.

“I’m not prepared to support Leader Jeffries for a Democratic House speaker. “I will be supporting a Democrat over any Republican, but I was deeply concerned by Leader Jeffries hesitancy and ultimate failure to endorse Zohran Mamdani when he became the Democratic nominee for the City of New York, the city that Hakeem Jeffries represents in the House of Representatives.”
Jeffries did endorse Mamdani in late October, as early voting in New York City’s mayoral election got underway.
The Democratic House leader’s backing of Mamdani came after months of pressure and following a four-month standoff where Jeffries stayed neutral in the wake of Mamdani’s blockbuster June Democratic primary victory.
