Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Tidehold Development Co Ltd (TW:), which rose 10.00% or 2.10 points to trade at 23.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Tri Ocean Textile Co Ltd (TW:) added 9.92% or 5.90 points to end at 65.40 and Abonmax Co Ltd (TW:) was up 9.87% or 3.35 points to 37.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were China Motor Corp (TW:), which fell 9.95% or 10.80 points to trade at 97.70 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd (TW:) was down 6.64% or 15.00 points to 211.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Tidehold Development Co Ltd (TW:) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.00% or 2.10 to 23.10.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.96% or 0.75 to $78.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.85% or 0.69 to hit $81.53 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.76% or 18.70 to trade at $2,491.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.02% to 32.70, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.18% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 103.81.
