The best performers of the session on the were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:), which rose 4.66% or 7.45 points to trade at 167.45 at the close. Meanwhile, HALEON PLC (LON:) added 2.74% or 9.80 points to end at 367.80 and United Utilities Group PLC (LON:) was up 2.52% or 26.00 points to 1,059.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:), which fell 7.13% or 152.00 points to trade at 1,980.00 at the close. Diploma PLC (LON:) declined 6.99% or 306.00 points to end at 4,074.00 and JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:) was down 6.57% or 8.70 points to 123.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1441 to 414 and 622 ended unchanged.
Shares in HALEON PLC (LON:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.74% or 9.80 to 367.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.25 to $2,481.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.17% or 2.42 to hit $73.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.82% or 2.24 to trade at $77.28 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.40% to 1.28, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.05% at 103.11.
