Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the fell 1.06% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 1.92% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.39 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) added 1.24% or 0.18 points to end at 14.73 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) was up 0.60% or 0.02 points to 3.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:), which fell 4.76% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.36 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:) declined 3.01% or 0.13 points to end at 4.20 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:) was down 2.58% or 0.50 points to 18.71.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 18 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.62% or 2.08 to $77.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.95% or 2.25 to hit $74.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 0.70 to trade at $2,480.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.08% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.05% at 103.11.
