Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the fell 0.56% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:), which rose 8.69% or 0.38 points to trade at 4.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Nexi SpA (BIT:) added 2.48% or 0.13 points to end at 5.28 and Iveco Group NV (BIT:) was up 2.05% or 0.17 points to 8.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bper Banca SpA (BIT:), which fell 1.77% or 0.08 points to trade at 4.67 at the close. Pirelli & C SPA (BIT:) declined 1.70% or 0.09 points to end at 5.21 and UniCredit SpA (BIT:) was down 1.61% or 0.54 points to 32.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 302 to 201 and 38 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.11% or 0.81 to $73.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.92% or 0.70 to hit $77.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.65% or 15.95 to trade at $2,428.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.32% at 102.81.
