The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:), which fell 3.72% or 0.49 points to trade at 12.69 at the close. Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:) declined 2.28% or 3.00 points to end at 128.40 and Covestro AG (ETR:) was down 0.52% or 0.28 points to 53.32.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which rose 7.04% to 5.45, Rational AG (ETR:) which was up 5.60% to settle at 867.50 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which gained 5.28% to close at 17.36.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 34.63% to 5.45 in late trade, Puma SE (ETR:) which lost 10.81% to settle at 36.96 and Fraport AG (ETR:) which was down 3.00% to 44.62 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:) which rose 8.64% to 55.30, United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 5.28% to settle at 17.36 and Siltronic AG (ETR:) which gained 5.22% to close at 73.55.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 34.63% to 5.45 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:) which lost 4.60% to settle at 16.79 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 2.76% to 61.65 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 474 to 138 and 33 ended unchanged.

Shares in Puma SE (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.81% or 4.48 to 36.96. Shares in Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 34.63% or 2.88 to 5.45. Shares in Kontron AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.60% or 0.81 to 16.79.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.11% or 2.65 to $2,434.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.21% or 2.35 to hit $75.55 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.75% or 2.10 to trade at $78.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 102.99.
