Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the gained 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:), which rose 9.82% or 0.28 points to trade at 3.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:) added 9.36% or 0.16 points to end at 1.87 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:) was up 8.60% or 3.83 points to 48.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco do Brasil SA (BVMF:), which fell 1.31% or 0.35 points to trade at 26.30 at the close. WEG SA (BVMF:) declined 1.27% or 0.62 points to end at 48.35 and JBS SA (BVMF:) was down 0.78% or 0.25 points to 31.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 463 to 462 and 68 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.29% to 31.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 8.70 to $2,422.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.91% or 2.13 to hit $75.33 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 3.91% or 9.23 to trade at $245.18 .
USD/BRL was down 0.53% to 5.63, while EUR/BRL fell 0.99% to 6.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 102.99.
