Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the added 0.45% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the were Petroleo Brasileiro SA (BVMF:), which rose 2.79% or 1.10 points to trade at 40.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (BVMF:) added 2.47% or 0.90 points to end at 37.41 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:) was up 2.32% or 0.24 points to 10.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:), which fell 11.45% or 0.91 points to trade at 7.04 at the close. Braskem SA (BVMF:) declined 4.24% or 0.73 points to end at 16.49 and Dexco SA (BVMF:) was down 4.22% or 0.34 points to 7.71.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 483 to 436 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 11.45% or 0.91 to 7.04.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 11.38% to 28.28.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.56% or 38.65 to $2,512.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.64% or 2.80 to hit $79.64 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 3.48% or 8.15 to trade at $242.20 .
USD/BRL was down 0.13% to 5.50, while EUR/BRL fell 0.80% to 6.01.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 102.98.
