Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the fell 2.17%.
The best performers of the session on the were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which rose 3.61% or 4.20 points to trade at 118.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) added 2.61% or 1.80 points to end at 70.47 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV:) was up 2.09% or 3.76 points to 182.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:), which fell 3.46% or 1.94 points to trade at 53.91 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (BMV:) declined 2.21% or 8.20 points to end at 361.43 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (BMV:) was down 1.73% or 3.57 points to 201.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 111 to 107 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alsea, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.46% or 1.94 to 53.91.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.95% or 24.40 to $2,535.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.98% or 2.26 to hit $73.65 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.18% or 1.72 to trade at $77.10 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.55% to 19.73, while EUR/MXN fell 0.89% to 21.79.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 101.67.
