Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the declined 0.84% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the were Braskem SA (BVMF:), which rose 4.76% or 0.90 points to trade at 19.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:) added 2.79% or 0.17 points to end at 6.26 and Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) was up 2.57% or 0.67 points to 26.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:), which fell 10.08% or 0.63 points to trade at 5.62 at the close. CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:) declined 8.26% or 0.57 points to end at 6.33 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:) was down 5.44% or 0.80 points to 13.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 579 to 378 and 50 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.53% to 26.57.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.33% or 8.50 to $2,583.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.16% or 0.81 to hit $69.15 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.27% or 3.37 to trade at $261.13 .
USD/BRL was down 0.69% to 5.44, while EUR/BRL fell 1.06% to 6.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 100.64.
