Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the rose 0.80% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the were Fluidra (BME:), which rose 5.09% or 1.10 points to trade at 22.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Acerinox (BME:) added 3.70% or 0.35 points to end at 9.82 and ArcelorMittal SA (BME:) was up 3.55% or 0.75 points to 21.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:), which fell 2.63% or 0.97 points to trade at 35.85 at the close. Endesa SA (BME:) declined 1.78% or 0.35 points to end at 19.31 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:) was down 1.67% or 0.36 points to 21.24.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 142 to 54 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 16.05 to $2,614.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.12% or 1.48 to hit $71.36 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 1.36 to trade at $75.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 100.46.
