Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the rose 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 3.86% or 0.66 points to trade at 17.76 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) added 0.92% or 0.04 points to end at 4.06 and Nos SGPS SA (ELI:) was up 0.69% or 0.03 points to 3.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Semapa (ELI:), which fell 1.64% or 0.24 points to trade at 14.36 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 0.95% or 0.02 points to end at 2.51 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:) was down 0.55% or 0.04 points to 7.24.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.71% or 1.27 to $73.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.18% or 1.56 to hit $70.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 3.40 to trade at $2,680.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 100.53.
