Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Lightspeed Commerce Inc (TSX:), which rose 13.28% or 2.48 points to trade at 21.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Aya Gold & Silver Inc (TSX:) added 6.44% or 1.12 points to end at 18.52 and Denison Mines Corp (TSX:) was up 4.55% or 0.11 points to 2.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Magna International Inc (TSX:), which fell 5.48% or 3.15 points to trade at 54.38 at the close. Precision Drilling Corporation (TSX:) declined 4.14% or 3.65 points to end at 84.50 and Athabasca Oil Corp (TSX:) was down 4.09% or 0.21 points to 4.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 539 to 390 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aya Gold & Silver Inc (TSX:) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.44% or 1.12 to 18.52.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was down 5.40% to 10.51.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.90 to $2,682.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.45% or 1.75 to hit $69.81 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.93% or 1.44 to trade at $73.03 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged 0.40% to 0.74, while CAD/EUR unchanged 0.05% to 0.67.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 100.68.
