Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the rose 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the were Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:), which rose 4.91% or 0.88 points to trade at 18.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Sao Martinho SA (BVMF:) added 4.19% or 1.33 points to end at 33.09 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref (BVMF:) was up 3.81% or 0.28 points to 7.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:), which fell 3.72% or 0.30 points to trade at 7.76 at the close. MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:) declined 3.64% or 0.25 points to end at 6.61 and Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:) was down 3.52% or 0.39 points to 10.69.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 471 to 464 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.72% or 0.30 to 7.76.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.02% to 27.72.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.09% or 25.50 to $2,372.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.76% or 0.61 to hit $81.32 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 1.41% or 3.20 to trade at $229.45 .
USD/BRL was up 0.35% to 5.46, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.01% to 5.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 105.31.
