Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the fell 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the were Italgas SpA (BIT:), which rose 3.31% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:) added 2.40% or 0.12 points to end at 5.12 and DiaSorin SpA (BIT:) was up 1.81% or 1.85 points to 104.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (BIT:), which fell 2.48% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.01 at the close. Eni SpA (BIT:) declined 2.14% or 0.31 points to end at 14.19 and Tenaris SA (BIT:) was down 2.04% or 0.30 points to 14.44.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 270 to 240 and 43 ended unchanged.
Shares in Italgas SpA (BIT:) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.31% or 0.18 to 5.61.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 4.43% or 3.42 to $73.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 4.41% or 3.57 to hit $77.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.27% or 33.95 to trade at $2,632.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 102.31.
