Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the lost 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the were Hera (BIT:), which rose 1.43% or 0.05 points to trade at 3.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Nexi SpA (BIT:) added 1.36% or 0.08 points to end at 5.80 and Saipem SpA (BIT:) was up 1.17% or 0.03 points to 2.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:), which fell 3.79% or 0.18 points to trade at 4.44 at the close. Amplifon (BIT:) declined 3.78% or 1.30 points to end at 33.09 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:) was down 2.84% or 0.19 points to 6.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 299 to 184 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.21% or 0.17 to $81.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.15% or 0.13 to hit $85.58 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.15% or 27.30 to trade at $2,341.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.44.
