Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the lost 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the were Telecom Italia (BIT:), which rose 2.07% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Hera (BIT:) added 1.94% or 0.07 points to end at 3.67 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:) was up 1.79% or 0.21 points to 11.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (BIT:), which fell 3.17% or 0.82 points to trade at 25.01 at the close. Eni SpA (BIT:) declined 2.72% or 0.39 points to end at 13.96 and Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:) was down 2.58% or 2.45 points to 92.45.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 254 to 236 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hera (BIT:) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.94% or 0.07 to 3.67. Shares in Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.79% or 0.21 to 11.96.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 5.13% or 3.79 to $70.04 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 4.93% or 3.82 to hit $73.64 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 17.15 to trade at $2,682.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 102.96.
