Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the added 0.63% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the were Galapagos NV (AS:), which rose 3.26% or 0.88 points to trade at 27.88 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB SA (EBR:) added 3.21% or 5.50 points to end at 176.70 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:) was up 1.08% or 0.75 points to 70.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR:), which fell 2.24% or 0.88 points to trade at 38.44 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:) declined 1.73% or 1.28 points to end at 72.56 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:) was down 1.23% or 0.80 points to 64.25.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 47 to 46 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:) rose to all time highs; rising 3.21% or 5.50 to 176.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.53% or 14.15 to $2,705.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $70.51 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $74.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 103.61.
