Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the rose 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the were Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:), which rose 6.17% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.72 at the close. Meanwhile, Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:) added 5.48% or 2.17 points to end at 41.80 and JBS SA (BVMF:) was up 4.27% or 1.26 points to 30.79 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:), which fell 2.39% or 0.45 points to trade at 18.35 at the close. Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:) declined 2.08% or 0.27 points to end at 12.73 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:) was down 2.00% or 0.06 points to 2.94.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 478 to 441 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in JBS SA (BVMF:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.27% or 1.26 to 30.79.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.91% to 27.19.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.46% or 34.70 to $2,334.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.82% or 0.67 to hit $80.62 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 2.39% or 5.50 to trade at $224.85 .
USD/BRL was down 0.29% to 5.43, while EUR/BRL fell 0.51% to 5.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 105.45.
