Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the gained 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the were Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:), which rose 6.62% or 310.00 points to trade at 4,994.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Schroders PLC (LON:) added 4.30% or 14.80 points to end at 358.80 and Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:) was up 3.30% or 68.00 points to 2,130.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Smurfit WestRock PLC (LON:), which fell 2.12% or 85.00 points to trade at 3,930.00 at the close. Vistry Group PLC (LON:) declined 1.65% or 15.00 points to end at 894.50 and Entain PLC (LON:) was down 1.42% or 10.60 points to 734.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1091 to 633 and 725 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 2.45 to $2,751.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.00% or 0.69 to hit $69.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.99% or 0.72 to trade at $73.53 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.39% to 1.29, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 104.10.
