Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the gained 1.92%.
The best performers of the session on the were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:), which rose 11.60% or 0.64 points to trade at 6.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (BIT:) added 8.15% or 0.02 points to end at 0.23 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:) was up 4.69% or 0.34 points to 7.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iveco Group NV (BIT:), which fell 2.51% or 0.24 points to trade at 9.48 at the close. DiaSorin SpA (BIT:) declined 1.96% or 2.10 points to end at 104.95 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:) was down 0.79% or 0.20 points to 25.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 310 to 204 and 44 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.15% or 0.10 to $68.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.19% or 0.14 to hit $72.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 7.10 to trade at $2,579.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 106.49.
