Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.75%, while the index lost 0.46%, and the index climbed 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which rose 3.62% or 1.65 points to trade at 47.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Qiagen NV (ETR:) added 3.55% or 1.38 points to end at 40.22 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) was up 2.55% or 6.10 points to 245.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:), which fell 2.26% or 1.34 points to trade at 58.08 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:) declined 1.92% or 1.12 points to end at 57.22 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) was down 1.51% or 0.92 points to 59.96.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rational AG (ETR:) which rose 1.97% to 880.50, Siltronic AG (ETR:) which was up 1.90% to settle at 47.30 and GEA Group AG (ETR:) which gained 1.85% to close at 46.24.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:) which was down 8.19% to 82.35 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which lost 6.81% to settle at 10.20 and Aurubis AG (ETR:) which was down 4.36% to 76.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Qiagen NV (ETR:) which rose 3.55% to 40.22, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:) which was up 2.29% to settle at 49.20 and Siltronic AG (ETR:) which gained 1.90% to close at 47.30.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which was down 5.23% to 11.42 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which lost 3.95% to settle at 54.65 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 2.93% to 12.76 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 325 to 315 and 27 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 3.62% or 1.65 to 47.27. Shares in Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:) fell to all time lows; losing 1.92% or 1.12 to 57.22. Shares in SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.23% or 0.63 to 11.42. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.95% or 2.25 to 54.65. Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.93% or 0.38 to 12.76.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.62% to 18.40.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.54% or 14.20 to $2,665.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.32% or 0.91 to hit $69.66 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.21% or 0.88 to trade at $73.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 107.06.
