Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the added 1.85%.
The best performers of the session on the were Bper Banca SpA (BIT:), which rose 4.99% or 0.23 points to trade at 4.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:) added 4.01% or 0.18 points to end at 4.62 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:) was up 3.98% or 0.26 points to 6.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hera (BIT:), which fell 0.61% or 0.02 points to trade at 3.24 at the close. STMicroelectronics (BIT:) declined 0.41% or 0.16 points to end at 37.78 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:) was down 0.40% or 0.04 points to 9.56.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 310 to 185 and 36 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.03% or 0.83 to $81.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.92% or 0.78 to hit $85.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.45% or 10.40 to trade at $2,341.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 105.17.
