Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the rose 0.78%, while the index gained 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the were Renault SA (EPA:), which rose 2.25% or 0.89 points to trade at 40.53 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:) added 2.17% or 0.52 points to end at 24.27 and Edenred SA (EPA:) was up 1.99% or 0.61 points to 31.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:), which fell 1.08% or 1.55 points to trade at 141.50 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:) declined 1.06% or 0.16 points to end at 14.40 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:) was down 0.42% or 0.45 points to 105.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:) which rose 5.92% to 2.65, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:) which was up 5.63% to settle at 4.50 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:) which gained 3.84% to close at 4.11.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:) which was down 2.21% to 0.86 in late trade, Alten SA (EPA:) which lost 1.63% to settle at 75.45 and Trigano SA (EPA:) which was down 1.41% to 119.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 252 to 235 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solutions 30 SE (EPA:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 2.21% or 0.02 to 0.86. Shares in Alten SA (EPA:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 1.63% or 1.25 to 75.45.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.76% or 20.16 to $2,684.96 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $68.73 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.36 to trade at $72.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 106.04.
