Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the lost 0.47%.
The best performers of the session on the were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:), which rose 4.30% or 0.12 points to trade at 2.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI:) added 1.36% or 0.10 points to end at 7.46 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:) was up 1.21% or 0.10 points to 8.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:), which fell 3.60% or 0.38 points to trade at 10.18 at the close. EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) declined 2.63% or 0.09 points to end at 3.26 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:) was down 1.67% or 0.04 points to 2.36.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 14 to 8 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in EDP Renovaveis (ELI:) fell to 3-years lows; down 3.60% or 0.38 to 10.18. Shares in EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.63% or 0.09 to 3.26.
Brent oil for February delivery was down 0.77% or 0.57 to $73.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.92% or 0.64 to hit $69.30 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 6.61 to trade at $2,674.51 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 106.16.
