Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the rose 1.07%.
The best performers of the session on the were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:), which rose 12.28% or 1.33 points to trade at 12.16 at the close. Meanwhile, MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF:) added 5.58% or 0.37 points to end at 7.00 and Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:) was up 5.45% or 0.20 points to 3.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WEG SA (BVMF:), which fell 1.07% or 0.44 points to trade at 40.64 at the close. Embraer SA (BVMF:) declined 0.82% or 0.31 points to end at 37.56 and CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:) was down 0.39% or 0.02 points to 5.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 525 to 421 and 56 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.10% to 26.89.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.63% or 14.70 to $2,345.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.16% or 0.94 to hit $81.67 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 5.33% or 12.00 to trade at $237.00 .
USD/BRL was down 0.67% to 5.39, while EUR/BRL fell 0.65% to 5.79.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 105.14.
