How many of you, like me, are last-minute Christmas shoppers? Finding the right gift for the firearms lover in your life can be a bit tricky, especially when it seems like they already have everything they want. Here are two unique products that I personally own.
TagMe by Ocufii
The Ocufii TagMe movement detection device adds extra security for firearm owners because it will send an alert to your phone whenever someone moves what the small disc is attached to. It comprises a beacon, a base station, and a mobile app. You can attach the beacon to your firearm, a safe door, or even a drawer where you keep your medications. It can go anywhere you want to detect movement.
When the beacon senses movement, it sends a message to the base station. The base station connects to any Wi-Fi, so you’ll receive an alert on your phone no matter where you are. It’s perfect for letting you know if someone moves your gun, like a child in your house or the maid at a hotel.
This system helps prevent theft and provides peace of mind, and I use mine when I’m traveling to make sure the maid or some other unwanted person doesn’t go through my bags. There is no monthly fee, and you can add multiple beacons to a single base station. They have beacons integrated into locks and straps that can be attached to anything.
Maverick Tactical Concealable Armor Shirt
You can see most body armor a mile away, and it’s not ideal for everyday use or when you want to be discreet. Maverick Tactical makes a comfortable, concealable Level IIIA shirt with a very low profile. This shirt integrates soft armor panels rated to stop up to a .44 Magnum. Because of how thin the panels are and how the shirt is designed, it can be worn under your regular clothing.
You can easily remove the panels and toss the shirt into the washer. I wore one when I was covering the DNC Convention in Chicago this year, and it was hardly noticeable under the short-sleeved button-up shirt I had on. You want these to be a snug fit, so order one size down from what you would typically buy. They even make panels that can be inserted into your kid’s backpacks, and their products are all made in the US, not overseas.
These two last-minute Christmas gifts are not only practical but also a bit unique, making them perfect for someone who doesn’t know what they want.
