The best performers of the session on the were Salesforce Inc (NYSE:), which rose 0.76% or 1.82 points to trade at 241.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:) added 0.73% or 3.28 points to end at 450.95 and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) was up 0.56% or 0.17 points to 30.74 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Home Depot Inc (NYSE:), which fell 3.58% or 12.56 points to trade at 338.32 at the close. Dow Inc (NYSE:) declined 2.67% or 1.46 points to end at 53.16 and Nike Inc (NYSE:) was down 2.49% or 2.42 points to 94.75.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were Carnival Corporation (NYSE:) which rose 8.85% to 17.84, NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was up 6.76% to settle at 126.09 and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE:) which gained 5.11% to close at 18.29.
The worst performers were Pool Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was down 8.04% to 310.74 in late trade, Pentair PLC (NYSE:) which lost 7.11% to settle at 74.31 and Mohawk Industries Inc (NYSE:) which was down 5.71% to 106.33 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Regis Corporation (NASDAQ:) which rose 304.73% to 20.52, Pop Culture Group Co Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was up 57.39% to settle at 1.81 and Griid Infrastructure Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 43.48% to close at 1.98.
The worst performers were Beyond Air Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 51.54% to 0.65 in late trade, Allarity Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 34.80% to settle at 0.21 and Vsee Health Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 33.61% to 8.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1853 to 959 and 112 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2104 fell and 1230 advanced, while 147 ended unchanged.
Shares in Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.73% or 3.28 to 450.95. Shares in Beyond Air Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 51.54% or 0.69 to 0.65. Shares in Allarity Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 34.80% or 0.11 to 0.21. Shares in Vsee Health Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 33.61% or 4.05 to 8.00.
The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P 500 options, was down 3.68% to 12.84.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.59% or 13.85 to $2,330.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.09% or 0.89 to hit $80.74 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 1.02 to trade at $84.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.07, while USD/JPY rose 0.06% to 159.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 105.29.
