Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the declined 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:), which rose 5.34% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:) added 3.14% or 0.09 points to end at 2.82 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:) was up 0.53% or 0.04 points to 7.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:), which fell 4.92% or 0.48 points to trade at 9.28 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:) declined 3.43% or 0.65 points to end at 18.28 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:) was down 3.28% or 0.10 points to 3.07.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for March delivery was down 1.17% or 0.90 to $76.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.17% or 0.87 to hit $73.38 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.72% or 19.31 to trade at $2,684.71 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP rose 0.63% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 108.93.
