Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX:), which rose 2.45% or 155.00 points to trade at 6,488.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Magnit PJSC (MCX:) added 1.01% or 48.50 points to end at 4,836.00 and Polyus PJSC (MCX:) was up 0.85% or 123.00 points to 14,533.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX:), which fell 5.57% or 67.00 points to trade at 1,136.00 at the close. NOVATEK PJSC (MCX:) declined 4.67% or 45.60 points to end at 931.00 and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX:) was down 4.55% or 2.99 points to 62.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 211 to 36 and 5 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 2.32% to 36.68.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.71% or 19.09 to $2,691.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.19% or 0.87 to hit $74.19 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.34% or 1.02 to trade at $77.18 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 2.15% to 102.25, while EUR/RUB fell 2.30% to 105.34.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 108.99.
