Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:), which rose 3.76% or 0.28 points to trade at 7.73 at the close. Meanwhile, IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:) added 3.67% or 1.63 points to end at 46.08 and CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:) was up 2.97% or 0.14 points to 4.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:), which fell 5.02% or 0.73 points to trade at 13.82 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:) declined 4.66% or 1.41 points to end at 28.87 and B3 SA Brasil Bolsa Balcao (BVMF:) was down 3.92% or 0.40 points to 9.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 582 to 361 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tim Participacoes SA (BVMF:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.02% or 0.73 to 13.82. Shares in Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.66% or 1.41 to 28.87.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.30% to 30.17.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.99% or 26.51 to $2,717.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 3.69% or 2.73 to hit $76.65 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 2.03% or 6.45 to trade at $324.95 .
USD/BRL was up 1.12% to 6.10, while EUR/BRL rose 0.63% to 6.25.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 109.49.
