Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the rose 0.40% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:), which rose 8.18% or 0.66 points to trade at 8.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:) added 7.69% or 0.21 points to end at 2.94 and Lojas Renner SA (BVMF:) was up 6.44% or 0.80 points to 13.23 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:), which fell 1.62% or 0.09 points to trade at 5.45 at the close. Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF:) declined 1.61% or 0.41 points to end at 25.19 and Petroleo Brasileiro SA PN (BVMF:) was down 1.43% or 0.54 points to 37.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 517 to 356 and 56 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.86% to 27.38.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 4.10 to $2,365.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.21% or 0.18 to hit $84.06 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.65% or 3.75 to trade at $223.55 .
USD/BRL was down 1.26% to 5.49, while EUR/BRL fell 1.22% to 5.93.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 104.82.
