Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the gained 0.13% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:), which rose 10.16% or 0.19 points to trade at 2.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:) added 7.17% or 0.21 points to end at 3.14 and Lwsa SA (BVMF:) was up 6.44% or 0.27 points to 4.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Embraer SA (BVMF:), which fell 4.13% or 1.55 points to trade at 35.96 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (BVMF:) declined 3.81% or 2.17 points to end at 54.83 and IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:) was down 2.15% or 0.67 points to 30.53.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 480 to 471 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.15% or 0.67 to 30.53.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.86% to 27.38.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.18% or 28.00 to $2,397.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.75% or 0.63 to hit $83.25 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 2.83% or 6.35 to trade at $230.55 .
USD/BRL was down 0.47% to 5.46, while EUR/BRL fell 0.21% to 5.92.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.51% at 104.54.
