Meanwhile, SMC Corp (TYO:) added 2.14% or 1,720.00 points to end at 82,030.00 and Nexon Co Ltd (TYO:) was up 2.02% or 62.00 points to 3,127.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (TYO:), which fell 4.46% or 120.50 points to trade at 2,580.00 at the close. Yaskawa Electric Corp. (TYO:) declined 4.39% or 262.00 points to end at 5,710.00 and Hitachi Zosen Corp. (TYO:) was down 3.66% or 40.00 points to 1,054.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2198 to 1417 and 270 ended unchanged.

USD/JPY was up 0.02% to 160.74, while EUR/JPY rose 0.13% to 173.90.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.69.
