Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the declined 1.56%, while the index lost 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the were Orange SA (EPA:), which rose 0.51% or 0.05 points to trade at 9.83 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:) added 0.30% or 0.05 points to end at 18.07 and Sanofi SA (EPA:) was down 0.08% or 0.07 points to 92.03 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:), which fell 5.15% or 1.83 points to trade at 33.69 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:) declined 3.09% or 2.40 points to end at 75.32 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:) was down 2.83% or 3.84 points to 131.84.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) which rose 3.87% to 22.02, Valneva (EPA:) which was up 3.39% to settle at 3.30 and Soitec SA (EPA:) which gained 1.08% to close at 112.70.
The worst performers were Verallia (EPA:) which was down 18.41% to 28.00 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:) which lost 12.32% to settle at 1.83 and Emeis SA (EPA:) which was down 5.84% to 11.76 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 344 to 153 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.15% or 1.83 to 33.69. Shares in Verallia (EPA:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 18.41% or 6.32 to 28.00.
The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.23% or 5.50 to $2,369.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.18% or 0.97 to hit $81.36 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.24% or 1.06 to trade at $84.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.83.
