Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sydney, the rose 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the were Mesoblast Ltd (ASX:), which rose 13.85% or 0.16 points to trade at 1.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Nuix Ltd (ASX:) added 9.87% or 0.31 points to end at 3.45 and Polynovo Ltd (ASX:) was up 7.47% or 0.18 points to 2.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Woodside Energy Ltd (ASX:), which fell 3.74% or 1.07 points to trade at 27.53 at the close. Domain Holdings Australia Ltd (ASX:) declined 3.02% or 0.10 points to end at 3.21 and Regis Resources Ltd (ASX:) was down 2.36% or 0.05 points to 1.87.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 592 to 525 and 443 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 4.95 to $2,389.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $78.39 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $82.45 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 0.66, while AUD/JPY fell 0.51% to 103.78.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 104.05.
