Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The best performers of the session on the were Westgold Resources Ltd (ASX:), which rose 4.91% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.78 at the close. Meanwhile, St Barbara Ltd (ASX:) added 2.22% or 0.01 points to end at 0.23 and Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:) was up 1.54% or 0.01 points to 0.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Domino’S Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:), which fell 9.16% or 2.99 points to trade at 29.59 at the close. Champion Iron Ltd (ASX:) declined 7.03% or 0.45 points to end at 5.95 and Polynovo Ltd (ASX:) was down 6.62% or 0.18 points to 2.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 833 to 289 and 396 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.15% or 28.50 to $2,509.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.76% or 0.58 to hit $76.89 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.70% or 0.56 to trade at $80.08 a barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 0.65, while AUD/JPY rose 0.08% to 97.17.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 104.01.
