Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the added 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the were Solvay SA (EBR:), which rose 4.59% or 1.49 points to trade at 33.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Syensqo SA (EBR:) added 2.96% or 2.43 points to end at 84.58 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:) was up 2.44% or 1.34 points to 56.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (EBR:), which fell 1.74% or 7.50 points to trade at 423.40 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR:) declined 1.23% or 2.60 points to end at 208.40 and UCB SA (EBR:) was down 0.81% or 1.15 points to 141.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 51 to 34 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.50 to $2,467.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.06% or 1.64 to hit $81.35 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.59% or 1.33 to trade at $85.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 103.53.
