Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the gained 0.36% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the were Melexis NV (EBR:), which rose 1.65% or 1.40 points to trade at 86.20 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:) added 1.65% or 3.40 points to end at 210.00 and Umicore SA (EBR:) was up 1.36% or 0.19 points to 14.12 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:), which fell 2.13% or 2.00 points to trade at 91.95 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:) declined 0.52% or 0.75 points to end at 143.85 and Sofina (EBR:) was down 0.46% or 1.00 points to 214.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 54 to 33 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.17% or 4.20 to $2,417.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.19% or 0.16 to hit $82.78 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.10 to trade at $85.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 103.79.
