Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the gained 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the were Umicore SA (EBR:), which rose 6.57% or 0.66 points to trade at 10.63 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:) added 3.04% or 6.00 points to end at 203.20 and Galapagos NV (AS:) was up 2.92% or 0.76 points to 26.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:), which fell 1.02% or 0.80 points to trade at 77.35 at the close. UCB SA (EBR:) declined 0.12% or 0.20 points to end at 162.95 and Aedifica (EBR:) was down 0.08% or 0.05 points to 64.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 37 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.18% or 30.55 to $2,611.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.25 to hit $69.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.27 to trade at $72.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 101.04.
