Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the rose 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the were Umicore SA (EBR:), which rose 2.07% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR:) added 1.80% or 1.65 points to end at 93.20 and Aedifica (EBR:) was up 1.70% or 0.95 points to 56.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:), which fell 1.58% or 2.20 points to trade at 136.85 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:) declined 1.07% or 0.26 points to end at 24.04 and Ageas (EBR:) was up 0.51% or 0.22 points to 43.58.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 60 to 31 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.85% or 20.05 to $2,366.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.25% or 0.20 to hit $80.91 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.36% or 0.31 to trade at $85.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.34% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 105.26.
