Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the added 0.87% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the were Umicore SA (EBR:), which rose 2.88% or 0.39 points to trade at 13.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Elia (EBR:) added 2.79% or 2.55 points to end at 93.95 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:) was up 2.62% or 0.68 points to 26.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:), which fell 0.28% or 0.40 points to trade at 144.60 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:) declined 0.12% or 0.50 points to end at 429.90 and Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:) was up 0.29% or 0.20 points to 68.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 63 to 24 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.88% or 44.75 to $2,424.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.60% or 0.49 to hit $82.59 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.36 to trade at $85.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 104.11.
